1“Textile Protocol” to the Agreement on partnership and cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union signed on 7 April 2011 in Tashkent entered into force on 1 July 2017.

Given the priority importance attached by our country to the development of the textile industry, the entry into force of the instrument is of practical importance for the Republic in terms of increasing its export potential and access of the domestic textile products on the European markets.

In particular, the document provides a solid legal framework for trade in textile products between the EU and Uzbekistan by introducing reciprocal MFN in respect of transit, customs and tax payments used in the EU to Uzbek textile products and lifting all quantitative restrictions in trade of this type of product.
